There were many brands and options but I ended up with going with a Pelican case. Since I like to stand out, I chose a bright lime green case. I figured I can spot that a mile away. I seemed to have lost my creative motivation and desire, but I have found it once again thanks to the DC Cosplay Photo group. My first shoot with them was Superheroes vs Villains theme where I had a lot of fun. Not only was I impressed with the quality of the costumes, I also got to see some interesting ideas for additional Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-956260182051525288.post-87338263689643814222013-08-24T15:23:00.003-04:002013-08-24T15:23:55.056-04:00Unexpected Treasures - Annapolis SunriseThis morning I lead a group of photographers to the docks in Annapolis to catch the morning sunrise. Getting up at 2am to be at the Herndon Park & Ride by 3:30. Leaving promptly at 4am, the drive to Annapolis was peaceful. We arrived in Annapolis at about 5:10 and had a little bit of time before the first rays of the morning started to show their face at 5:30am. I hope everyone likes the white look, feel free to post comments good or bad.
I have a couple of photo tours coming up that I am leading through the Unexpected Treasures meetup group.

Plus it's been cold outside and haven't had the motivation to get out and shoot. It doesn't mean I haven't been thinking of my next projects though...
I have been evaluating the direction I would like to go from a professional level. With my ankle being broken back since the latter part of February, it's been hard to get around and be on my feet for any real length of time. However, now that I am getting better it's back to doing what I like doing most. I even added a new lens to my arsenal: The Nikon 85mm f/1.8G lens.
I'm hoping to be a little more activeUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-956260182051525288.post-57361381765020374752011-04-03T09:34:00.000-04:002011-04-03T09:34:22.811-04:00Alpha Sigma Alpha EventSaturday April 2, 2011 at the M&S Grill in Reston Town Center, I had the opportunity to photograph a reunion of ASA (Alpha Sigma Alpha) sorority girls, though I guess now they are women. However you wouldn't know that by the high pitched squeals of excitement as friends of past saw each other and reunited with their past. I do have to say, I have not seen so many coach bags, in Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-956260182051525288.post-8036133532171157532011-02-27T10:26:00.000-05:002011-02-27T10:26:09.767-05:00Camera UpgradeThank goodness for big tax refunds. I felt it was time to move from the prosumer DX crop D200 to one of the big boy cameras. I purchased a Nikon D700 and a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 G lens to further enhance my photography abilities. The Nikon D700 has a full frame sensor (unlike the crop sensor in my D200), and does incredibly well in low light situations. I could spend $699 for the new Adobe Photoshop CS5 which has lots of nice cool features and a lot of things I will never use. I could also spend $299 on Adobe Lightroom 3.0 when it comes out. The beta looked pretty good. I finally decided to go with Apple's Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-956260182051525288.post-78113310346112117302009-07-20T11:17:00.008-04:002009-07-20T11:42:38.839-04:00Mckee-Besher - July 2009So myself and a few people from the Loudoun Photo Club decided to get up at a hideous hour in the morning to go to Mckee-Besher WMA (Wildlife Management Area). However despite the early morning departure, we found what we were looking for around 6:45am, the field of sunflowers that were blooming. The nice thing about the field, is that it was right off the parking area, so walking was minimal. This morning I went down and arrived at the Tidal Basin in DC about 5am. (I now know where a great parking spot is for next year). It was pretty chilly but only a handful of people were out and about. I hung out at the Jefferson Memorial while I waited for a little time to pass since the sunrise was Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-956260182051525288.post-25560991901807070372009-03-02T14:20:00.004-05:002009-03-02T14:52:08.780-05:00Welcome to my blogI've set up this blog to share my thoughts and experiences in the photography world.
